The Greater Zion Support Alliance (GZSA) provides support for those with mental-health issues and their loved ones through a monthly online group led by a licensed facilitator and a peer facilitator. We serve the Greater Zion area and are here to connect, share our experiences, and help each other thrive in the major areas of health and wellness. Dana Martin is the group’s peer co-facilitator. Kevin Johnson is the group’s licensed co-facilitator.
We are currently transitioning to an online group model, though we are open to in-person meetings if there’s a demand for them. Beginning in January 2027, we will meet monthly online through Google Meets.

Our goal is to foster a safe, welcoming environment for connection, conversation, and mutual support around mental health and wellness. Our meetings are designed to let people talk about what’s going on in their lives within the framework of the wellness wheel, which includes the financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, spiritual, emotional, and environmental factors that lead to or hamper wellness and overall health.
Who This Group Is For. Our efforts are focused on those living in Washington County, Utah, the state of Utah as a whole, and surrounding areas in neighboring Western states — especially rural communities where local mental-health resources can be harder to access.
Our Group Model. We start by introducing ourselves, then share one or two topics we’d like to discuss. The co-facilitators may also suggest topics that fall within the wellness wheel framework. We’ll get to as many topics as possible and will save topics for the next meeting if we run out of time.
After brief introductions, we have a directed discussion in which we encourage everyone to engage with the topics we’ve selected as a group. Sharing experiences, challenges, coping mechanisms, and strategies are all great ways to participate in the conversation. If you don’t want to speak during this time, no worries. Listening to the discussion is a form of participation.
Community Guidelines. Read through our community guidelines here.
Important Note on Care and Crisis Support. The GZSA support group is designed for peer support and discussion. It is not an emergency response service, a crisis intervention tool, or a replacement for professional clinical care.
